VIDEO PRODUCER’S CLUB MEETING MINUTES
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 2018

President Joseph Valentinetti called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

Members Present: Richard Houck, Michael Oh, Irene Cistaro, Paul Bassett, Bill Frambach, Anna Derby, Barbara Houck, Brian Harmon & Robin Forte-Lincke, (SBTV3).  Guests were Andre & Sheryl  Dubre.  These Leisure World residents are also active in the Cabaret, Good News Singers, and Theater Club.

The Minutes of the August General Meeting were approved as corrected.

Treasurer’s Report -  Barbara Houck reported a balance at the end of August of $2,153.02 at US Bank, and $69 in Petty Cash.

New Business

There were 3 member birthdays in September – Probably a record.

Joseph discussed the Club’s Holiday Party to be held on Monday, November 6, at Clubhouse 4, Side A (Left).  Doors will open at 11:30.  Jose Osuna will tape the event, and Michael Ho and Richard Houck volunteered to backup as required.  Barbara Houck and Irene Cistaro volunteered to assist with decorating the tables.

The entertainment was discussed.  Anna will provide 4 dancers and 2 singers from for ½ hour from 11:45 to 12:15.  The Bula Combo will provide music during the meal, starting at 12:30.

Joseph reminded members to email him if there are guest VIPs that should be invited to attend the Holiday party.  There was discussion about the guests like SB3, Recreation Dept, etc; who he invites every year.

Joseph reminded members that we will vote for Officers at the October general meeting.  He request input if anyone is interest in becoming President, Vice, President, Secretary, or Treasurer.

Roundtable

Barbara Houck– Working on a story of her Great Grandfather who drove a 1910 Buick from Indiana to Texas, and the various adventures along the way.  Hopes to someday have it produced as a video.

Richard Houck – Has finished the Stamp & Collectibles Club video.  Has it ready to produce.

Anna  – Video of party, has Saturday concert to tape, and October Sunshine Club.

Michael  – Concerns about Superwire contract which expires in February.  Not sure what changes might be expected.  Joseph explained that “Meda Data” in video will get it into the right category.  He also mentioned that our Facebook page will preserve our videos.  Robin (SBTV3) said no one knows at this time what will happen.

Brian is still working with “Harmonizing Humanities”, and has interviews in the next 2 weeks.   His wife does the camera work.

Guest Andre and Sheryl – They have been working with Irene on her cruise video.  Sheryl is a writer, and her poetry can be seen in the Leisure World Newspaper.

Irene - has been involved with the play, and excited about learning to use Camera 3.

Paul - has been working with Anna’s events, and working on the Korean Event for SBTV3.

Robin – has been working on our new programming for October.

Joseph discussed the various venues such as Goggle Maps and YouTube, and the differences for our videos.

Barbara Houck recommended members to watch a very funny Leisure World video featuring 4 residents imitating Michael Jackson and the LW Poker Club Party on YouTube from several years ago.  To access it Robin found it by searching “Leisure World & Michael Jackson”.

TREASURERS REPORT

NEW BUSINESS
VPC’s facebook page is the first post on our website lwvpc.blogspot.com.
Equipment donated by SBTV3 can only be used for TV3 videos. GRF equipment can be used by all VPC members who have been qualified. None of the equipment can be used by members who will use it to make money. This is for hobby use only. It is okay to charge people for discs that members make.
A broken tripod was found. Please inform VPC when equipment is broken so that it can be fixed.
September and October are the last meetings for 2018. Please give Joseph names of restaurants that cater.
ROUND TABLE
Paul Bassett finished a drive safe video. Also edited the Korean American show in the amphitheater with the help of Michael Oh and Irene Cistero. He explained the new sound equipment at the amphitheater. Some of it needs to get fixed. He accepted a $100 donation to VPC from the Korean American Association.
Michael Oh dropped his camera in the ocean and had to buy a new one. He learned that if salt water gets in a camera, it should be rinsed with plain water. Michael videoed and produced the Korean American Show in the amphitheater. Michael videoed and produced the wedding in club house 2.
Irene Cistaro was third camera at the amphitheater. Had to change batteries. Always check the status of the batteries before going to event. She crewed a wedding with Michael and Janice in club house 2
Bill Holden has written several short plays that have been filmed by Joe Osuna and cast with many of the VPC members as players. These shows can be seen on Superwire and facebook.
Janice Laine completed the Doo Wop show and the Mystery theater show. She crewed for Michael Oh’s video of the wedding in club house 2.
Richard Houck made a 9-hour video transfer. Also 4 2-hour videos and a 1-hour project.
Anna Derby directed the wedding at club house 2 and the Korean American show in the amphitheater. She helped with the problems with the sound at the amphitheater. Anna very generously offered to have her dance group, with a singer, perform at our Holiday party. Thank you, Anna.
Rabbi Galit Levy-Slater is live feeding the high holidays. Live feeding is a first for VPC and several members offered to crew.
Art (Jason) Rubinsteen having problems with his equipment and is working on solving them.
Joe Osuna has been creating clever short plays to be seen on Superwire and facebook. He is working with Bill Holden and several VPC members on these projects. He volunteered to test the equipment Galit Levy-Slater will use with her live-feed high holidays program to verify it could stream using clubhouse 3 WiFi. He’s also working with Mara Williams on a church project blessing of the animals.
Barbara Houck is learning Power Director. She had years of genealogy work to produce. She also has a lot of work on her collectors’ club.
Robin Forte-Lincke explained how to get TV3 on your TV. TV3 got a grant from Run Seal Beach for equipment so now anyone can watch live shows on their own computer.

MINUTES:  Members are requested to peruse the minutes on our website and suggest errors/omissions. Brian Harmon moved to accept the minutes as written. Bill Holden seconded the motion. Unanimously approved.

TREASURER: Barbara Houck, the new treasurer, reported that we have $2,052.86 in our bank account and $69.00 in petty cash. We had $104.00 in our petty cash, however, $45 was spent on supplies and $10 was taken in for dues, leaving $69. Richard Houck moved to accept the report and Bill Frambach seconded. It was unanimously accepted.

BIRTHDAYS:  Joe Osuna celebrated his birthday in July.

NEW BUSINESS: GRF has a contract with Superwire that needs to be negotiated in February 2018. GRF will be looking at new bids as from other companies well as Superwire’s bid. If Superwire or a competing bid is not accepted, VPC will still have SBTV3 to air our videos.
     VPC’s youtube channel was discussed. VPC members may drop their videos into this channel.
     Rabbi Galit Levy-Slater is planning to do live streaming of her high holy days services. Volunteers were requested to help with this event.
             Members are encouraged to try out live streaming at any location where there is WiFi. All of the Club Houses have WiFi. Before filming be sure to get permission from anyone you will be filming. Other do’s and don’ts were discussed.
      The lights in the VPC room have been converted to whiter lights.

ROUND TABLE: Barbara Houck is working on a promo for the Stamp & Collectors Club. There are many amazing and different collections.

Richard Houck completed his poker club promo and it’s on youtube and Superwire.

Bonnie Cooper had the lead actor role in the show (“Judge Bonnie”) that Bill Holden wrote and Joe Osuna produced. Now she is working on Bill’s latest show which will also be produced by Joe Osuna.

Janice Laine completed the Leisure World Choral show and it is now on youtube, Superwire and SBTV3. She is just finishing the latest Doo Wop show and it is on youtube, Superwire and SBTV3.

Brian Harmon visited Mongolia and was fortunate in being invited to meet with the President for 45 minutes. Brian is doing some videos on Mongolia. The bad news is that he inadvertently left his phone in the airport.

Beverley Bender has been taking pictures with her phone. She assisted Janice Laine in several projects.

Bill Holden is working with Joe Osuna, Bonnie Cooper and Irene Cistaro on his newest original play. They will begin shooting it later on today. His last play “Judge Bonnie” has been well received by viewers on youtube, Superwire and SBTV3.

Bob Groncki is working on a video of his original songs. He says he’s written enough songs to complete his first album.

Ren Villaneuva put in many hours of work on the Philipino Veterans fund raising event. Funds go to GRF and to the American Legion.

Mara Williams reports that her church has a new young pastor who has great plans for the future.

Paul Bassett helped Anna and Michael with the Rocking Chairs show. He also plans to help with their next show.

Anna Derby thanked Paul, Irene and Michael for their work on the show. There was a problem when one of the camera people forgot to push a button; however, they were able to produce the show. Anna asked for volunteers to help with a wedding she has committed to video.

Bill Frambach is performing on some new videos.

Irene Cistaro showed the new camera she was given. She did a two-camera shoot with Michael and is now working on producing it. Irene is one of the actors in today’s shoot of Bill Holden’s original play.

Oralia Osuna has been assisting Joe on some of his shoots.

Robin Forte-Lincke thanked everyone for signing the card we sent to her mother. She reported that we should know that zooming when filming is very taxing on the battery. So you should always carry a second charged battery just in case you need to change it. Regarding forgetting to push a button, she recommends starting your camera before the action starts. You can always edit out that part. You can see live SBTV3 by going to SBTV3.org on your computer or on your phone. Once on that site, click on the circle with the 3 on it. The live streaming will come right up.

NEW BUSINESS: There were requests for coverage for the 4th of July – Golf cart parade, Paws and Claws contest and several clubs. Members may volunteer for these projects.





ROUND TABLE: Barbara Houck reports that the Stamp & Collectors Club has grown considerably since adding all collectors. There are many amazing and different collections. She asked for help with producing her video and received several offers.





Richard Houck is working on several videos here in the VPC room and several more at home, especially file organization.





Joe Osuna reported Terese “T” Smith’s donation of CD-R and mini discs that need a special tray. We no longer have a tray. Also donated a mic with 2 inputs that was used with an old cassette recorder. He helped Ann Seifert with her iPad. There is to be no videoing at the amphitheater of the top end performers but the low end performers wish us to continue capturing their acts. Anyone who videos the 4th of July events should put the coverage in the folder Joe has provided on the computer. He has an article in the paper about green screen photos telling residents that if they want their photo done with a different background, he will make it for them.





Lynn Choy presented Joe with a framed certificate for his work on the Nikkei Club program. The club presented the Japanese Dancers in full costume at their luncheon. She also had a framed certificate for Ken Reddy who also worked on this program.





Irene Cistaro got a new camera and has been using the new VPC equipment.





Bill Holden wrote a play “Judge Bonnie” that Joe videoed. Together they found actors and costumes and shot it on the green screen. Joe found impressive backgrounds for each of the scenes. Bill is writing a new play “Captain Senior and Marvelous Nell.”





Michael Oh will shoot the Philippine Veterans Association picnic. He asked about a head cleaner which Joseph pointed out is on the book shelf.





Anna Derby was unable to attend the meeting due to a conflict in her schedule. She thanked Janice Laine for getting the Sunshine Club video project done showing the club participation in many GRF events. With Leila Claudio, she coordinated The Cypress Senior Choir Concert on June 8th. Michael Oh, Mary Apte, and Joe Osuna videoed and produced the show. She reports that Leila sent special thanks to them for all their work.





Paul Bassett helped Michael with the audio that was distorted. He pointed out that you the sound can be manipulated.





Mara Williams reported that the Community Church has a new pastor and that she planned a memorial for Henrietta Bemis.





Jason Rubinsteen has come back to club. He has lots of technical information on older machines.





Janice Laine has completed the Leisure World Choral June show and is working with the theater club on their Labor Day show.

 A MOMENT OF SILENCE: Robin Forte-Lincke’s mother passed away. VPC sends our sympathy for her loss.

 MINUTES:  Members are requested to peruse the minutes on our website and suggest errors/omissions. Joseph Chavez moved to accept the minutes as written. Joe Osuna seconded the motion. Unanimously approved.

 TREASURER: An election was held to replace the treasurer. Barbara Houck was nominated and voted in unanimously.  The new treasurer,, Barbara Houck, will add her name to the club account and prepare a report by the next meeting.

NEW MEMBERS: There are two new VPC members: Jane Haass and Lynn Baideck.

Jane paid her $10 dues and Lynn donated $100, ten dollars of which is for dues.

 BIRTHDAYS:  Bonnie Z Cooper celebrated her birthday in May.

 NEW BUSINESS: VPC members who borrow the equipment must return it properly. They must erase their work on the camera so that it will be ready for the next person. If it is not erased by the borrower, the next person who uses the camera has the right to erase it without saving it. In addition, batteries must be charged after each use.

 Currently several members have their own “youtube” site which makes it difficult for residents to find some videos.  Discussion noted that VPC has a facebook page – write “VPC” on facebook page to go to the site. Bonnie Cooper and Bob Groncki volunteered to help members move their videos on youtube over to the facebook site so that we will have a uniform method of letting people know how to find our videos.

 OLLI requested coverage for their recruiting. Brian Harmon, Bill Holden, and Joe Osuna volunteered to cover it

 Janice Laine is unable to KIO on the 4th Friday of the month. Irene offered to take her place.

 ROUND TABLE: Mary Apte videoed the Shuffleboard Clubs tournament. She had difficulty getting narration to sync with the video; however, she has plans on how to use it. Irene helped her with the interviewing. Richard Houck made a promo for the poker club. Barbara Houck wrote the script. He has a request from the radio club to do a promo for them. Irene Cistaro did a shoot with Joe Osuna and helped Mary Apte. She has her picture on facebook and youtube. Brian Harmon talked about his Harmonizing Humanity story on Cambodia. He volunteered to help with the OLLI promo. Bill Holden is shooting a play he wrote with Joe Osuna and Bonnie Cooper. He volunteered to help with the OLLI promo. Anna Derby talked about Michael Oh’s having trouble with the volume on his film of Chinese Medicine. Anna and Michael had planned to shoot the next Cabaret show but it was cancelled. They will shoot the next Rocking Chair show in July. Bob Groncki has been busy working full time. He volunteered to help members transfer their youtube videos over to the VPC facebook page.

 Joe Osuna reminded members of the 10 p.m. curfew in Club House 3. The club house opens at 7 a.m. 7 days a week. The Grand Opening of the Veterans’ Plaza is June 8. He reported that Apple does not translate well with Windows. However, the conversion can be made.

Joseph Chavez is experimenting with his drone. Paul Bassett reported that he uses a program that only Mac would play until he figured out a conversion. Paul will show you how to use it. Bonnie Cooper brought a mini cassette and camera that won’t fit in VPC computers but Bonnie can show you how to make it work. She reported that a resident was told at an outside store that wanted $50 to change a VHS but she then brought the tape to VPC where someone can show her how to change it at no charge. Barbara Houck is working on video for the quilting club and also one for the collectors club. Janice Laine completed the Chuck Wagon Show video, the Doo Wop show video and the Eric and Sandra Nelson “Broadway” show video.

TREASURER: The beginning balance was $2201.51. Petty cash was $104. Joe Osuna moved to accept the report and Beverley Bender seconded. Unanimously approved.
BIRTHDAYS: Irene Cistaro celebrates her birthday in April
NEW BUSINESS: There was a request from the Shuffle Board club to video their event. Mary Apte volunteered and will ask Sandy Young to help.
The new equipment was shown again: a small bag holds the mic with the dead cat, light, and rig. It was noted that the mic has settings on the back. Set “on” and 10 DB will occur by moving switches to the right. The club has two set ups for regular cameras and one set for phone camera.
There is a new sign out sheet on the bulletin board for this equipment. The old sign out sheet will still be used for SBTV3 equipment.
If anyone wants to learn how to use watermarks, they can learn on Mondays or Wednesdays.
ROUND TABLE: Michael Oh has completed four projects: Stock Transfer; Tommy Williams; Rick Papp; Keith Bague. Discussed audio on a camera that kept cutting out. He made a video of the American Legion Fashion Show and The Rocking Chairs event in addition to his ongoing task of making videos of the Sunshine Club speakers.
Anna Derby crewed on the American Legion Fashion Show luncheon and the Rocking Chairs event. She made a promo for the Sunshine Club that is being shown on Superwire now and is working on a longer one for the club plus another one for GAF.
Mary Apte worked with Dawn on a project using the Apple computer. Joe Osuna helped her but the Apple isn’t always compatible as it’s difficult to find the correct format. Mary volunteered for the Shuffleboard request. In addition, she is working on a Teddy Roosevelt at the Potomac project.
Bob Slater is planning to be more active. He still has unfinished film when he was working on his “Tor” project – a travelogue with a stuffed dog.
Joe Osuna is working on a number of projects.
Irene Cistaro announced that the promo she did on her Tai Chi class was very productive and her class is now large enough that they can keep the big room
Janice Laine completed a promo for the Joyful Line Dance Club and the Sunshine Club promo.

MINUTES:​ Members are requested to peruse the minutes on our website and suggest errors/omissions. Joe Osuna moved to accept the minutes as written. Beverley Bender seconded the motion. Unanimously approved. TREASURER​: The beginning balance was $2126.42. Petty cash was $100 less $6 for cookies, plus $10 dues received ending with a balance of $104. Bill Holden moved to accept the report and Beverley Bender seconded. Unanimously approved. BIRTHDAYS: ​No birthdays were reported. NEW BUSINESS:​ Richard Houck volunteered his equipment and his time to teach residents how to convert their audio cassettes to discs. Valentinetti sent an email to all members showing them the new equipment he wanted to buy for the club. He suggested three sets of camera rigs with mounted mic and interview/fill lights. Joe Osuna moved and Bill Holden seconded to approve this purchase. Unanimously accepted. Additionally, Valentinetti requested that the club purchase new AA and AAA batteries from petty cash. The VPC has produced 11 promos for the Leisure World clubs which are being shown on Superwire, SBTV3, and youtube. Also, these promos have been submitted to the Leisure World web site and can be seen there. More promos are being made. Lorene will be leaving to live in Hawaii for several months and asked for someone to take over her duties as treasurer and coffee person. Richard and Barbara Houck volunteered to accept these responsibilities. ROUND TABLE​: Mary Apte​ completed the April Inside Leisure World featuring Ken Reddy with “Art from India.” She learned many ways to improve her next show including whether to use the green screen or to use “studio 2” for her next project. Janice Laine produced this video. Mary also assisted Joe Osuna on the Easter Egg show at the library. Bonnie Z Cooper ​had several of her projects fall through; however, she industriously set to work videoing the Braille Institute’s work with the Leisure World Hearing and Vision Impaired group. Additionally, Bonnie is producing video for the Leisure World Genealogy group. Bonnie has completed promos for four Leisure World clubs. Joe Osuna​ videoed the Easter Egg contest with Mary Apte and Bill Holden. He reported on the importance of having a second camera to fall back on if necessary. Joe will cover bestselling author, J. A. Jance. He has figured out how to display her image on two televisions in the room while she is being interviewed. Bill Holden​ worked with Joe Osuna on the Easter Egg contest using three cameras. Bill is excellent at interviewing and captured some very interesting discussions. Jim Mucahy​ has been on vacation but is happy to be back. Mara Williams​ is willing to assist. Oralia Osuna​ was second camera for Community Sing, St. Patrick’s GRF dinner dance, and for the Irish Celtic band. Bob Groncki​ made a promo for the VPC that is being shown on Superwire, SBTV3, youtube, and the LW web site. He is working on show about the new LW security/parking enforcement laws. Michael Oh​ completed four projects last month, but is only working on one this month - the American Legion Fashion Show. Ren Villaneueva​ offered to check with some clubs about making promos for them. Barbara Houck​ took cameras to genealogy meeting but had some problems. She will edit what she has. She volunteered to help with treasurer and coffee tasks. Richard Houck​ gave kudos to Paul Bassett for helping him get the equipment to work. Radio club is happy with their promo. He volunteered to help with treasurer and coffee tasks. Beverley Bender ​ completed a promo on “Laugh for the Health of It.” Anna Derby​ thanks Paul and Michael and Richard. Thanks to Joe for helping break their video into two parts. Will be second camera for the American Legion Fashion Show. Had a problem with someone falling off the riser so now there needs to be a barrier around the risers for the cameras. Anna will help with the cameras for the Rocking Chair show. Janice Laine​ completed a promo for Beverley Bender’s “Laugh for the Health of It.” Also, she finished a promo for “The Rocking Chairs” event. Janice produced Mary Apte’s Inside Leisure World. Robin Forte-Lincke ​commended the VPC for all the work we do. She suggested that we make a little check list to be sure we correct any mistakes we might have made. She said to be sure the plate is on the tripod as several people had forgotten and the plates got lost. MEMBERS PRESENT: Joseph Valentinetti, Joe Osuna, Oralia Osuna, Anna Derby, Michael Oh, Irene Cistaro, Richard Houck, Barbara Houck, Bonnie Z Cooper, Shirlene Chavez, Joseph Chavez, Mary Apte, Ren Villaneueva, Paul Bassett, Sandy Young, Janice Laine, Robin Forte-Lincke.
MINUTES:  Members are requested to peruse the minutes on our website and suggest errors/omissions. Richard Houck moved to accept the minutes as written. Ren Villaneueva seconded the motion. Unanimously approved.
TREASURER: The beginning balance was $2126.24. Dues Collected were $20 giving a balance of $2246.24. Petty cash balance was $105 less $5 for coffee leaving a balance of $100.00. $55.00 was collected during the meeting and will be reflected on next month’s report. Joseph Chavez moved to accept the report and Joe Osuna seconded. Unanimously approved.
BIRTHDAYS:  Anna Derby had her birthday acknowledged.
NEW BUSINESS: Mary Apte requested a crew to assist her in her Inside Leisure World video. Janice Laine and Sandy Young tentatively agreed.
The library has requested video coverage for several events they have planned. Joe Osuna will cover the Easter egg show with Mary Apte assisting on camera.
Last month the VPC began making 2 to 3 minute promos for all of the clubs in Leisure World. A number of these promos have been completed and Joe Osuna is grouping them together and putting them on Superwire and SBTV3. More will be completed.
ROUND TABLE: Mary Apte is making the April Inside Leisure World featuring Ken Reddy with “Art from India.” She is also assisting Joe Osuna for the Easter Egg show at the library.
Michael Oh has been busy with four projects: 1. FALW – the Filipino Valentine dance; 2. Anna Derby’s birthday party; 3. GRF Valentine party; and 4. Cabaret’s Mardi Gras. Richard Houck, Anna Derby and Paul Bassett assisted.
Ren Villaneueva suggested that we ask GRF to install stage lighting.
Irene Cistaro made a promo for her Tai Chi class and is working on projects for the gardening and art clubs.
Sandy Young is checking her schedule to make sure she is available to help Mary Apte do her ILW video. She is donating her old Mac to the VPC.
Bonnie Z Cooper is working on a project with HICAP. She is also working with Leisure World’s social worker, Cynthia Tostado on a resources project. She has completed promos for 4 clubs.
Barbara Houck is VPC’s newest member and took copious notes to learn as much as possible.
Richard Houck has become VPC’s expert on changing tape to DVD or CD. He crewed with Michael Oh on several projects.
Anna Derby is thankful for the promo completed on the Joyful Line Dance club. She has crewed with Michael Oh on his four projects. She tried to help with the Cabaret lighting issue but it was to no avail. Fortunately Paul Bassett had his low level lighting camera.
Paul Bassett was welcomed back after a long absence. Paul was a godsend for the Cabaret show since lighting was a problem and Paul had the correct camera.
Oralia Osuna assisted Joe on several projects. They videoed the Harmonica students show.
Joe Osuna is putting together several of the 2 to 3 minutes promos to show on Superwire and SBTV3. He videoed and or produced several of the promos. In addition he shot and produced the Harmonica Show.   
Joseph Chavez has been busy learning how to use his new drone and his new apparatus for his phone camera with a microphone and a spot light.

Janice Laine completed the video of the theater club’s “A Chili Night” show. She completed the 2 ½ minute promo for the Joyful Line Dance club.

MEMBERS PRESENT: Joseph Valentinetti, Joe Osuna, Oralia Osuna, Lorene Christian, Anna Derby, Michael Oh, Irene Cistaro, Beverley Bender, Richard Houck, Bob Gronki, Bonnie Z Cooper, Shirlene Chavez, Joseph Chavez, Mary Apte, Mara Williams. Two guest also attended: Tommy Williams and Ruth Long.

TREASURER: The beginning balance was $1704.14.Petty cash balance was $45.  Jewish Women’s Club donation of $75; plus Cabaret Entertainers donation of $300.
BIRTHDAYS:  Joseph Chavez, Shirlene Chavez, Mara Williams, Mary Apte, and Richard Houck had their birthdays acknowledged.
NEW BUSINESS: There is ongoing discussion in regards to our lease with GRF concerning the disclaimer. However, they did collect our rent reimbursement of $1 so we are paid through the year.
A proposal on how to get VPC more involved with the community, and visa versa, was presented. The VPC will volunteer to make promos with the 200 plus clubs in Leisure World. The promos will be 1 to 5 minute long and will show who, what, when, where, why and how their clubs operate. The VPC will provide the expertise to make these promos newsworthy. The promos would be shown on Superwire, SBTV3, youtube, and on the Leisure World website. Current residents and also to prospective buyers will benefit from them. Janice Laine, Mary Apte, Irene Cistaro and Beverley Bender will form a committee to work out the organization of this concept.
Joseph Valentinetti showed a device for holding a cell phone that contains a microphone and a spot light. The device allows the videographer to film with a steady hand without a cumbersome tripod.
ROUND TABLE: Mary Apte returned from vacation and is now starting to get active. She is completing a project she started some time ago.
Michael Oh was on vacation and took some interesting video of chopping down a bunch of bananas.
Joseph Chavez is in the theater production on 2/1/18. He is looking at getting a micro drone.
Shirlene Chavez made a slideshow with help from Joe Osuna.
Mara Williams made a Christmas greeting that was shown on Superwire.
Bonnie Z Cooper finished a memorial video and is now working on two projects: 1 – how to live frugally and 2 – about living with a loss. She volunteered to do March ILW.
Bob Gronki will be do one of his series “Voices . . .” in February. He will do a promo for the VPC using the green screen.
Lorene Christian is busy collecting the dues for our club.
Beverley Bender is busy decorating her house. She is available to crew.
Richard Houck is still working on 2 videos. He has been 2nd camera at Cabaret.
Joe Osuna helped the Jewish Women’s League with their video. Mary assisted him burning DVDs. Joe collected Margie Thompson’s dues and donation of DVD cases. Talked to Robin Forte-Lincke who was unable to attend. Announced he received 2 SBTV3 programs from Michael Oh. Reported on Paul Bassett’s health. Announced the members who earned producers’ certificates: Beverly Bender, Bob Groncki, Richard Houck, Mara Williams, Helen Tang, Tommy Wu.
Oralia Osuna helped Joe on his many events.
Irene Cistaro has completed some videos on her tablet and had many problems editing. She working on a garden project.
Anna Derby was 2nd camera for Michael Oh on Cabaret video. She has a private party in February and will assist on Cabaret’s 2/20 show. Took lots of pictures of Michael cutting down the bunch of bananas.
Janice Laine completed the video of the December Doo Wop show, the promo for the theater club’s Chili Night Show. She will video that show on February 1. She is working on the “Promo Project” for the VPC.
